Flight Training Program

Liberty Technologies, a leading company in innovation and the production of highly advanced turbine aircraft, has incorporated a comprehensive flight training program into its business operations.  This program uses state-of-the-art teaching techniques and personalized hands-on interaction to provide a wide range of ground and flight instruction tailored to the unique needs of its customers.  Our training program is comprehensive, able to provide instruction at all levels.

Mission

The mission of Liberty’s training program is to enhance flight safety by providing customers with the knowledge, skills and practical experience necessary to safely and legally operate Liberty’s line of advanced turbine-powered helicopters.  Additionally, the training program bolsters customer satisfaction by enhancing the purchase experience.

Philosophy

Liberty’s training program is tailored to suit the needs of our customers and is designed to provide a broad spectrum of instruction at all levels.  The program follows the guidelines of the United States Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) rotorcraft flying handbook and associated regulations.  Customers come to Liberty with a range of flight credentials.  Some have no flight experience, and others have more detailed knowledge of helicopters and decades of rotorcraft flight experience.  Liberty’s philosophy is to meet the needs of all our customers by tailoring our syllabi to each customer’s level of experience.  By doing so, we will ensure the safe and efficient operations of our products and increase the inherent value to the customer.

Ground Instruction

Ground school is an essential part of any training program.  Liberty ’s ground school provides classroom instruction on Liberty helicopter systems, rotorcraft aerodynamics, weight and balance, rotorcraft performance and flying qualities, basic and advanced helicopter flight maneuvers, Liberty helicopter emergency procedures, instruments and night flying operations.

Instruction will take place at Liberty Technology’s world headquarters in Ellsworth, Kansas.  Instruction will be by seminar with certified instructors, employing entertaining and comprehensive presentations using the latest in classroom media and professionally-designed courseware.  By holding ground classes at Liberty ’s main facilities, frequent trips to the manufacturing centers will be conducted to gain added insight into Liberty ’s world-class helicopters, engines and manufacturing processes.  This hands-on approach significantly enhances the learning environment and reinforces concepts presented in classroom lectures.

In addition to seminars, Liberty’s comprehensive ground training program involves practical application skills training through directed laboratory and simulator work groups.  Group training is used to the maximum extent practicable, but Liberty can accommodate any class size to suit the unique requirements of its customers.

Flight Instruction

Liberty’s flight program dovetails with its ground school.  Flight instruction takes place between Liberty’s onsite heliport, Ellsworth’s Municipal Airport and Salina ’s Municipal Airport .  Instruction is offered in all of Liberty’s products.  Basic flight instruction takes a student through a logical progression of those skills required to safely operate a helicopter.

Flight instruction includes practical training in ground and preflight inspections, cockpit fundamentals and all pre-start activities, checklist usage, safe radio procedures, safe engine operation and rotor engagement, hovering skills (to include safe translation), takeoff, instrument takeoff, pattern fundamentals, landing/transition techniques, instrument flight procedures, cross-country navigation skills, and emergency procedures to include engine failure and autorotation training.

Flight instruction will take place in a Liberty 750T initially, and students will progress solo flights in our Liberty 500T for time building.
